ABSTRAK

 

The problem of this research is How to Use Snowball Throwing Learning Methods in Improving Learning Achievement of Islamic Religious Education Students in Medang Deras Middle School 5 Batu Bara Regency? What are the obstacles in the Implementation of Snowball Throwing Learning Methods in Improving Learning Achievement of Islamic Religious Education Students at Medang Deras 5 Public Middle School, Batu Bara Regency? This research is a type of qualitative research. The type of research whose findings are not obtained through statistical procedures or other forms of calculation and aims to reveal the symptoms holistically-contextually through the collection of data from natural settings by utilizing the researcher as a key instrument.

The research results in this thesis, In using the Snowball Throwing model the teacher should also pay attention to the importance of classroom management. This is for the smooth running of the learning process. Because even though in learning they have used good learning methods, if they manage the class poorly, the learning process will be disrupted and the results will be unsatisfactory. By using the learning model of snowball throwing method a teacher is expected to be able to guide, direct and motivate so that students concentrate more in the teaching and learning process and in responding to the explanation from the teacher so that students can understand the subject matter well and can take the time as efficiently as possible.

The snowball throwing method requires the participation of students and the readiness of the teacher in carrying out this learning model, both in terms of mental and knowledge. Various obstacles for a teacher in implementing snowball throwing learning are limited infrastructure in Medang Deras Middle School 5, inadequate allocation of subjects, excessive student enthusiasm, and lack of teacher's understanding of snowball throwing learning methods
